Jesse Ables showcases art this month

Jesse Ables can trace his artistic origins to the back pew of a Baptist Church.
"My friend and I used to draw," said Ables, "and the preacher used to say, 'Jesse Lee, quit drawing the pictures.'"
It was a small Texas town, and art was not encouraged.
"People just didn't understand that," he said. "You went out and picked corn, worked with horses, and it was kind of an unusual thing for me to even want to be an artist. But I always had the need to be a little creative."
